The research most people don't have time to do.
Every surgeon on your shortlist goes through the same three-part process. None of it comes down to our opinion of who "seems good" — it's public record, direct verification, and cross-checked patient experience.
1.public record
- Board certification: the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS).
- Hospital privileges: we confirm whether a surgeon holds admitting privileges at an accredited hospital — privileges are granted after peer review, so they're a real signal, not a marketing claim.
- Disciplinary history: we check state medical board records for malpractice claims, suspensions, or disciplinary actions.
2.direct outreach
- We contact practices directly to confirm pricing structure (and whether quotes are all-in or itemized), current wait times, revision policy, and who actually performs the procedure — the surgeon, or a delegated team.
3.cross-referenced reviews
- We pull patient reviews from multiple platforms, not just the one a practice curates on its own site, and look for patterns rather than star ratings alone: recurring complaints, consistency of results, and how a practice handles complications when they happen.
what we don't do
- We don't perform clinical screenings or give medical advice. However thorough our research, your surgeon's own in-person evaluation is what determines whether a procedure is right and safe for you.
- We don't accept payment from any surgeon or clinic to be featured or ranked higher.
This process has taken us through more than 100 NYC-area surgeons so far — and it's ongoing. We add and re-verify practices as we work with new clients.
